Planning Your Visit

In planning for a visit to CHES, potential visitors typically connect with one of our senior faculty. This allows us the opportunity to develop a sense of the individual’s areas of interest, as well as to establish a set of meaningful goals for the visit. Based on these ideas and goals, CHES will arrange meetings with several members of the CHES community including core CHES faculty, postdoctoral fellows, clinical educator fellows, and other faculty across the University as appropriate.

COVID-19 Update: With the ongoing pandemic, CHES is pleased to offer many options for virtual visits. Please feel free to contact ches.admin@ubc.ca, for more information. Or, if you do wish to plan for an in-person visit in the future – please ensure that you are aware of and will plan to follow all federal and provincial health travel requirements and restrictions. More information on these guidelines can be found here and here.

Information for Overseas Visitors

Recently, new rules have come into effect for visitors to Canada, which require many individuals to obtain an “electronic Travel Authorization” (eTA) to enter the country. In order to determine if you will be required to complete the eTA, please visit the Government of Canada site here.

There are plenty of choices for places to eat on campus. Cafes typically open at 7:30am and there are a few pubs and restaurants that stay open for an evening meal. Visitors considering staying on campus should note choices are more limited outside of regular business hours.
